Overview // Art Becomes You is an annual Sunday afternoon party in the Museum. 2017 celebrates the kimono — its fine textiles, artistry and history. Master kimono maker Tsuyo Onodera from Sendai, Japan will share her skills and stories as well as assist in an obi-tying demonstration and a traditional wedding kimono assemblage.
Attendees will enjoy fine foods, live entertainment, and visiting with the guest artist.
Nov 2, 2016, 7 and 8 PM: Bunraku Japanese Puppetry with Kanroku and the Mokugu-sha Company at the SLO Little Theatre. Tickets through SLOMA online or by phone.
March 3 – April 30, 2017: The Art of the Kimono, a special exhibition on view in the Nybak Wing, features historic and contemporary kimonos on loan from the History Center of San Luis Obispo County and private collections.
