Education

The San Luis Obispo Museum of Art maintains a special commitment to meaningful, memorable art education. From basic techniques to hands-on activities in contemporary and multicultural art forms, the Museum strives to open students’ minds, stimulate creative thinking and encourage integration of the arts into every aspect of daily life.

Our foremost educational objective is to ensure that you have a variety of enlightening, inspiring, and rewarding opportunities to put your own individual creativity into practice.

Workshops and classes at the Museum are taught by talented, respected professional artists who have earned the appreciation and affection of their students. Many of these teaching artists have become favorites of Museum members, and return to educate and inspire their classes year after year.

Unless otherwise stated, all classes are taught in the Museum’s classroom at 1010 Broad Street, on the west end of the Mission Plaza, San Luis Obispo.
