Become A Volunteer!
The San Luis Obispo Museum of Art is always seeking art-loving individuals who wish to share their energy, time and talents. Volunteers’ contributions are vital to the Museum’s success, and you will enjoy a meaningful, fulfilling experience as an ambassador to visitors, a valuable asset to staff, and a respected member of a special network within the art community.
There are four primary ways to volunteer at the Museum of Art:
- Gallery Docent: Meet, greet and provide information on current exhibits, classes, memberships and other Museum of Art offerings to visitors; give docent tours as requested
- Museum Assistant: Office assistance such as mailings, filing, research, computer tasks, data entry
- Curatorial Support: Assisting with exhibit installations, gallery maintenance and improvement projects
- Special Events: Helping during exhibit receptions, lectures, films, fundraising events, and Plein Air Festival
